Ok so now that we had a good post about date night I thought I will fill the blogging world in on my morning. My morning began like most people's i'm sure. You think to yourself, "today I am going to be a great wife. Hop in the bath real quick and run to get soap, start a load of wash, you know....be ULTRA productive." Well like most women I can never just sit and wait for my bath to run so I began my multi tasking only to about 10 minutes later hear a strang dripping sound coming from my DOWN STAIRS window. Ignoring is once I continued to hear it. Then it hit me! Holy crap!! That's the water from my UP STAIRS bathtub that I was running. Yes folks, I had managed to flood my bathroom. 15 towels and one shop vac and fan later we are waiting to see the results from my stupid mistake!

Holy cow!! I've never done that but I have always been scared that I would. Let us know the results. Sorry.
he he he. It still makes me laugh.
Hello. Sorry about your tub. Just wondering why you felt the need to call yourself a retard? As the mom of a child with a cognitive impairment, the word retard is so demeaning to my child and millions like her. Did you mean stupid? Yes, those things happen to everyone. No reason to pin it down to being "retarded." My daughter may have a cognitive impairment but she is far from stupid.
I know you didn't mean to hurt anyone with your statement but that's exactly what happens when you use the word retard as slang.
Before I had my daughter I had no idea how much that word could sting
a mom's heart. So for that I ask that you please come up with another word next time.
I'm not trying to take away your right to use it. Just hoping you could see it through this mom's eyes.
Best wishes on your marriage and thanks for listening.
Hannah
I never intended to offend anyone with the retard comment only using it as a discriptive word. I myself have a nephew that is handicap and I don't think of his in the term of a retard therfore when I state the word I no more think of it as a discription. I don't feel that your child, no matter what disablity, to be a retard nor would I ever call a child that. Sorry you felt offended but this is my own personal blog and it is a term that anyone that knows me as a person would know that my intentions were not of an ill nature.
Everyone takes offense to different things. I don't even flinch at the word retard, even with Preston's disabilities. I'm pretty sure he will hear it quite a few times in his life. I am trying to teach him that it is not a bad thing. It just means "slow" and he is slow. I'm hoping that it will help him cope with it someday. It always reminds me of Mom & Dad's friends, the Houstons, and how they spoke to their kids (all of which had Downs). They taught them what people were like toward handicapped children and it empowered those kids. It was amazing!
I can understand, however, that it might be hard for some people to hear or read that word. My solution, don't come to this blog anymore or avoid people that use that term.
I know you would never use that word meaning you were like one of these special kids. I know you just meant you were kinda slow that day!
I love you! Have a great day and don't sweat the small stuff!
Wow we are some lucky people. Two stalkers in one week. I didn't think anything of it. And Preston is one special kid, man do I love him.
I too think of mom and dads friends. There are so many ways you can look at things. I guess we just choose to look at the up-side.
I know that you weren't reffering to handicapped children. But if people try to fix and correct evrery person who says the word, you will never enjoy life. Make it acceptable, make your child know that they are not "retarded", but that people will use the word, and it is okay. Make them comfortable in their skin and they will be very sucsessful in life.
LOVE YOU MEGGIE!
I love how your power cords are hanging out right next to your tub! I hope you move them before your bath! You're so crazy! (no offense to people that are crazy)
I can't believe your tub is so close to your electrical outlet like that. Nice design plan. I guess if you get electrocuted, they can find a new tenant and charge 'em more!
Wow! I can't believe the comment about the retard. People get offended so easily these days. I think that people need to stop taking offense where they know offense was not meant and stop reading things that are none of their business. I almost lost my job and my teaching license becasue someone was offended by my blog. People are so crazy these days.
By the way, I hope it all worked out and there wasn't too much damage.
